About the Authors
Betty Nguyen, MD is a physician specializing in dermatology. She was born in Southern California but spent much of her childhood in Georgia, where she grew up on a chicken farm. Betty studied Biology at UCLA, where she was a Gates Millennium Scholar, and earned her MD from UC Riverside on a full-tuition scholarship. Outside of work, Betty is a certified yoga instructor and licensed scuba diver. She also enjoys journalistic writing and cycling.
Brandon Pham, MD is a physician specializing in ophthalmology. He was born and raised in Southern California. Brandon studied Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics at UCLA, where he was a Goldwater Scholar, and earned his MD from Stanford. He is passionate about medical education for students of all ages. In his free time, Brandon enjoys traveling, playing tennis, and running.

These are one of my toddlers’ favorite bedtime stories! They both love rhyming books, and I love teaching them the ABCs, so reading this book to them is a win-win. Most importantly, the book does a great job of teaching kids how the body works in simple terms they can understand. I am very impressed with how well-written the book is and how clever some of the rhymes are. Reminds me of Dr. Seuss books… only medically themed!
My wife and I are huge fans of these rhyming ABC books. We have every book in the Medical School for Kids series and love them all, but we always wondered if incorporating rhymes into books would help them be more engaging and fun. We think this ABC book is perfect, particularly for younger children like our daughter! She loves to trace the big colorful letters of the alphabet at the top of each page and point at all the colorful pictures. Many concepts are still too difficult for her, but she is slowly learning! Hoping that more ABC books like these are released soon.
As a healthcare provider, I am a nerd when it comes to human anatomy and physiology. This is a fun way to introduce some concepts to your babies while you learn a bit too! You'll find yourself going like "huh! I learn something new each day."
As a medical professional, I love this book! I have been so excited to share my knowledge with my kids, and this book helps so much. It is easy to read, and I really like how it rhymes. It can definitely be challenging to explain medical terminology to kids. I think this book does a great job doing this.
