About the Authors
About the Authors
Betty Nguyen, MD is a physician specializing in dermatology. She was born in Southern California but spent much of her childhood in Georgia, where she grew up on a chicken farm. Betty studied Biology at UCLA, where she was a Gates Millennium Scholar, and earned her MD from UC Riverside on a full-tuition scholarship. Outside of work, Betty is a certified yoga instructor and licensed scuba diver. She also enjoys journalistic writing and cycling.
Brandon Pham, MD is a physician specializing in ophthalmology. He was born and raised in Southern California. Brandon studied Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics at UCLA, where he was a Goldwater Scholar, and earned his MD from Stanford. He is passionate about medical education for students of all ages. In his free time, Brandon enjoys traveling, playing tennis, and running.

The Endocrinology for Kids book is extremely well written and comprehensive. The book first introduces different glands that produce hormones, then describes the functions of these hormones and diseases that occur if the hormones don’t work properly. The book also introduces insulin and explains the cause of diabetes in a clear way. My nephew loves this book so much that he says he wants to be an endocrinologist when he grows up. I would recommend this book to any child interested in the medical field or who wants to learn more about diabetes.
This book was on a Christmas wish list for an endocrinologist friend of mine. I wasn't disappointed when it arrived - clean, new, crisp and shiny printing. I also wasn't disappointed when they opened their present and were so excited to have received it! Great item!
This book is a good comprehensive overview for myself.. I love this whole series. I hope it provides a good foundation for my child to understand anatomical systems.
I ordered this for one of our endocrine doctors who was having a baby. It came paperback, like it was printed on a regular printer with card stock. Would have imagined something a bit nicer for how expensive and niche it is.
We are slowly collecting the entire series, which are amazing! This book is our favourite, so easy to understand for my child and how it applies daily as a reminder to eat healthily and exercise. Would be great if there was a book on the liver? I know all organs are critical, but the liver does play a major role, and it's our second largest organ ;) Thank you for making these books.

I love medical books for my 4 year old (husband and I are both in the medical field) because although he may not absorb everything, just introducing him with medical terminology will definitely help with his learning in the future. I’ve also learned a lot reading this book!
I was searching for a book that can explain diabetes to my friend’s daughter, who was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 7-years-old, and came across this book. She absolutely loved reading this! She was excited to see what the pancreas looks like and learn about the role of insulin in regulating her blood sugar levels. She also enjoyed learning about other endocrine glands and hormones in the body. My wife and I are very impressed with this book!
